Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 19, 2026

1. Introduction

At Utilitly.com, user trust is our most valuable asset. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use our professional document utilities. Our core philosophy is built on data sovereignty: your documents should never leave your device.

2. Information We Collect

Automatically Collected Information

We collect standard, non-identifying telemetry to ensure service stability, such as browser type, operating system, and performance metrics. This data is used exclusively to improve the technical reliability of our tools.

Information We Don't Collect

We maintain a strict zero-retention policy for sensitive user document data.

For local utilities (Merge, Split, Rotate, and the True Text Editor), processing is performed 100% locally in your browser's memory. Your files are never transmitted to our servers.

For high-fidelity format conversion tools (PDF to Word, PDF to Excel, PDF to PPT), your files are securely transmitted via encrypted HTTPS connection to our secure server environment, processed entirely in memory, and immediately purged upon successful download. We store zero traces, logs, or copies of your files, and we have no technical ability to access, view, or retain your document contents.

3. How We Use Your Information

Any information collected is used for operational purposes only:
  • Maintaining and optimizing tool performance.
  • Processing subscription tiers and access control.
  • Responding to support inquiries.

4. Data Security

Utilitly.com employs industry-leading security practices to safeguard your information. By utilizing a hybrid model, standard utilities run entirely client-side (via pdf-lib and PDF.js), eliminating transit risks altogether. When complex format conversions require server-side execution, we encrypt all data in transit using TLS 1.3, isolate processing in memory-only dedicated environments, and immediately erase all inputs and outputs post-execution.

5. Sharing & Disclosure

Service Providers

We may use third-party providers for billing (e.g., Stripe) and authentication. These providers are strictly bound by confidentiality agreements.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

What We Don't Do

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or document data to third parties for marketing or any other purposes.

6. Cookies & Tracking

We use a minimalist implementation of cookies to manage session state and user preferences. You can control cookie settings through your browser, although some features of the platform may be limited if cookies are disabled.

7. Children’s Privacy

Utilitly.com does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information immediately.

8. Changes to Policy

We may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Significant changes will be notified via our website or email.
