GDPR Compliance Statement

Last Updated: July 19, 2026

1. Introduction to GDPR

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a comprehensive data privacy law establishing a framework for the collection, processing, and storage of personal data belonging to EU citizens. At Utilitly.com, we adhere strictly to the principles of data minimization and privacy by design.

2. Zero-Data Processing Architecture

The most effective way to secure data is to never possess it. Utilitly.com's core architecture eliminates the transmission of sensitive document data across the internet.

Local WebAssembly Execution

For our standard utility tools (PDF Merge, Split, Rotate, Compress, Protect, Unlock, and Text Edit), all file processing is handled strictly within your local browser sandbox via WebAssembly (WASM). No document data is ever uploaded to our servers, meaning there is zero cross-border data transfer, and no EU citizen personal data contained within those documents ever hits our infrastructure.

Ephemeral Server Conversions

For advanced formatting tasks (PDF to Word, Excel, PowerPoint), files are transmitted securely via TLS 1.3 to our infrastructure, processed entirely in an isolated memory buffer, and permanently destroyed instantly upon conversion. We retain no logs, caches, or backups of any uploaded document data.

3. Data Subject Rights

Because we do not store your documents, there is no document data for us to access, rectify, or delete. For basic account telemetry (such as your email address if you register for a Pro tier via our authentication partner, Clerk), you retain full rights to request immediate deletion of your account and associated metadata at any time.

4. Sub-processors

Utilitly.com minimizes reliance on third-party sub-processors. We solely use verified, enterprise-grade processors for authentication (Clerk) and billing (Stripe). Both are fully GDPR compliant and operate under strict Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).
